The Cat Who Chased Its Tail
When he met a master,a man asked him:"Oh Master!I have always wanted happiness, yet have never obtained it.Please tell me how to be happy?"
There was,at very this moment,a cat in the master's room. The cat had long long tail, and it was running around chasing it,seemingly heedless of the men.
"Look at this cat,do you think it is happy?",the Master told the man.
And so the man looked at the cat.So determined was it to chase its tail that the cat was turning on itself. It has still not caught its tail, yet it seemed very content.
As the man prepared to answer this, the cat stopped and dragged his tail out of the room.
"Happiness is like a cat's tail." The Master said,"As long as you chase after it,you will never catch it.But if you ignore it,it will follow you wherever you go."
Happiness is not a goal we pursue ahead of us.Rather,it is a side product; something that will follow us after we go to some places, meet some people, archieve some things.
We shouldn't even ask where happiness is.When you are asking,'Am I really happy now?',it often means that you are not.
The more one chases after happiness, the more one wants happiness, the less one will be happy.ignore it,and when you suddenly look over your shoulder, you will find that you already are happy.
