1. The material of our experiment came from Acb group. In the process of tissue culturing, a hybrid mutant was created by inserting the osr9 retrotransposon into the cel position. Through self-fertilization, the mutants were able to produce offsprings of three different genotypes: homozygous, heterozygous, and wildtype (?). But homozygotes were not found after multiple screenings.
2. We have observed that among the offsprings of the heterozygous were some poorly developed seed. These seeds, most of which were heterozygotes, still displayed termination of growth in early developmental period. Our subsequent MAP tests revealed an interesting finding: the banding patterns corresponded not with with differential genotypes, but with differential phenotypes. This part of the research is still incomplete, and needs further validation.
Very interesting science piece :D Good luck with the report!
