关键是问者问的是“事故发生在哪里”,而如果用that理解成强调句型的话,则答的是“和平会谈在哪里进行”了,答非所问啊!
试理
-事故是在哪里发生的?
-那次和平会谈将会在旅馆附近的邮局举行.
明显的牛头不对马嘴嘛!
2. 用where后,其实还是强调句型,只不过that之后的句子其他部分(被强调部分除外的),因为问句已经包括,所以被省略了而已.
而where the peace talk would be held只不过是定语从句修饰被强调部分中的the hotel而已.
完整句子如下：
—"Where did the accident happen?"
—"lt was at the post office near the hotel where the peace talk would be held (that the accident happened)."
后句去掉it was和that之后并调整句序后,刚好是：
The accident happened at the post office near the hotel where the peace talk would be held.
很明显,上句刚好能回答问句：Where did the accident happen?

-事故是在（将会举行那次和平会谈的）旅馆附近的邮局举行.
