  • There was always a saying of “One cannot think well, love well, sleep well,if one has not dined well.” Of course the most important thing in life is to have a filled stomach. However,in every corner of this world, there are people with different family statuses,in another word, purchasing powers. Those with greater purchasing powers can have a variety of choises a lot wider than those who comes from the salariat families.Obviously those with lower purchasing power have a limited range of food choises and most of the times they prefer to eat the cheaper food, but the richer ones are another completely new case.

The rich can choose to have the cheaper food or the more expensive food, despite the fact that both can satisfy our bodies' nutrients requirement, why do they prefer the more expensive food? Some of them chooses the more expensive food because they feel that those food are more hygenic, healthy and tasty, which is true in most cases. If this is the circumstance,it is worthy to pay more for the food as the bodies can get more nutrients and there is a lower chance of falling ill. However on the other hand, there are some who throw away enormous sums of money on some food which probably are not even that nutritious. Those people buy the food just to show off their wealth to the others and it satisfy their vanity. This is the case where it is not worth the money. Some of the food they buy are acquired through very cruel manners and the action endangers the species. For example,it is common to see rich people buying exquisite-looking shark fins from stores. However, according to scientific research, the nutrients found in shark fins are no greater than the nutrients found in a bowl of cooked egg.In this case, the purchaser is not benefiting in terms of physical health and he is actually causing harm in the biodiversity of our earth.

Thus,as a conclusion, buying expensive food can be worth it but it definitely depends on the circumstance very much.
