Recently 653 students from six middle schools in Guangzhou took part in a survey organised by Guangzhou Daily about students’ reading problems. According to the survey, 74.5% of the students agree to read after class, saying that out-of –class reading can never be replaced by other activities. 7.6% of the students also think it’s a good idea to read after class and insist on doing so for at least one hour after class. However, 77.8% of the students can’t have time to read after class though they would love to because of too much homework. Besides, leisure and pleasure magazines are really popular among all the reading contents.
