前一个分句according to a newspaper article___I read 是同位语从句,引导词that可省略；而the police arrested the man_____had robbed the first National Bank 虽然也是同位语从句,但that还充当了主语的作用,所以不能省.which一开始就可以排除,因为which只能代物,不能代人,而that既能代人,又能代物.简单点,第一个分句中的 I read 是完整句,而后面 had robbed the first National Bank 不是完整句,少一个主语.这样记就方便了.（稍微啰嗦了点）
