  • Farewell, the phantom inside our mindI was standing by the mirror, looking inside. Suddenly, I heard a voice- ‘Don’t afraid, It's me..’‘ Erik, the phantom! Why are you hiding?’ I said to him. Then, his figure becomes discernible behind the mirror. Erik was the narrator of his story-I was there, behind the mirror. I could see her face, clearly, but she didn’t realize me. Christine thought I was an angel, but I was in the shadow, watching her in the silence. I wanted to hold her hands, lead her to the darkness…Through my mind, through the inferno under the opera house…There aren’t any ghosts in the world. If there is, it’s undoubtly inside your mind. Erik was comletely succumbed to the phantom inside his heart- and what is more, he was in love with Christine- the girl didn't know anything about him. She fondly believed that Erik was the teacher sent by her father. But Erik was not only the guide and guardian of his little angel- he was calling for love, after so many years of loneliness. Finally Christine saw his face, her eyes were full of fears- Erik couldn’t conceal his resentment, but Christine was the girl he cherished most. He loved her, and wanted to be with her. So he hid into the darkness, hoping Christine could forgive his rudeness- though the hope was frail, the phantom didn't give up.Raoul appeared just in time. When he saw his playmates in the youth, Raoul was so glad that his little Christine was grown up- her dark eyes were so clear and bright, and her sound was so sweet, just like the angel. Meanwhile, Erik was madly in love with his student. He thought he had her promises of love, but without doubt, those illusions was unture. Erik couldn’t face any more frustration-behind his monstrous face, there was a broken heart inside the darkness.Erik decided to take Christine with him. He reached forward and took Christine firmly- his touch was cold, like his heart. But the phantom didn’t realize that the young couple’s love was so powerful- he was defeated, despairingly watching them drifting away on his tiny boat…Farewell, the opera house... I must disappear in the silence, the darkness and the inferno. Yes, it’s right here, inside my mind, behind my mask. Hide in loneliness, forever. I’m the phantom of the opera, Erik. Farewell, my little angel, it’s time to say goodbye…Erik was a genius, but the phantom destroyed his life. He waited under the opera house to the end of his days, just for love, for someone’s care. ‘No more talk of darkness, forget these wide-eyed fears,’’ Raoul onced said to Christine,’’nothing can harm you - my words will warm and calm you.’ But who could warm Erik’s heart? Who could help him to recover from shock and loneliness? Unfortunately, nobody.Every night, we pray. We believe in the lord and we believe there is the heaven. But for those who have phantoms inside their mind, the hope seems like summer birds-too swiftly flown away. Our mind is frail, yes, but we shouldn’t lose the spirit of our life. Don’t stand behind the mirror, because I can see your mind clearly. Move your mask…God bless you, keep your pride inside. You are not a murder, nor a killer… Your mind is as clear as the blue sky- let the sunshine dry your tears, and give me a little smile…‘So long,’ Erik disappeared behind the mirror. At that moment, I saw angels singing around me. It was a miracle, though it was only in dream. But there can be miracle, when we all believe-Farewell, the opera house;Farewell, the phantom inside our mind.
