I took part in a voluntary activity recently.
On the morning of Last Sunday, the Youth League of my school organized some students to visit a nursing home in the suburb.
We gathered at the school gate and went there by bus.
There are about 60 aged people living there, most of them are too old to take care of themselves.
As soon as we got here, we began to clean their rooms and washed their clothes.
Then we chatted with them in the yard.
They seemed to be happy to us, also enjoyed talking with us.
We had fun doing something for them.
At 11:30 a.m. we said goodbye to them and came back.
I’ve learned a lot from this experience.
These aged people are separated from their family.
They are eager to draw our attention.
As volunteers, we should devote our time and energy to take care of those people in need.
In this way we can make our community a better place.
