Every one of us may be criticized by others in our life. For example, workers who fail to accomplish their tasks may be criticized by their employer; students who have poor performance in exams may be criticized by their teachers and parents.
However, attitudes towards criticism differ from person to person. Some people will become annoyed, and will try to defend themselves by all means. Some people may be indifferent to criticism. They just regard criticism as nonsense. But other people accept criticism modestly and find their shortcomings from others' criticism, who tend to stand a good chance of success.
As for me, I welcome others' criticism. I have
always believed that old Chinese saying “Good medicine that tastes bitter will help one's illness”. In my opinion, though criticism will make us unhappy, it can help us know our shortcomings and inadequacy. Therefore, we should place more emphasis on others' criticism, instead of being annoyed with or turn a deaf ear to it.
