It seems a good idea to make young children spend most of their time on school studies.Firstly, these children will learn lots of useful knowledge, which will certainly do good to their further studies.Second, they can earn big marks in their exams and because of that, their teachers and parents will undoubtedly praise them. So,why not just take away all the children’s toys, and force them to study round the clock? It all sounds great in theory.Nevertheless,I do not believe young children should spend too much time on school studies.Instead,I think they should play more often, for the following reasons.
First of all,if children are required to study all the time, they will be bored with that and will lose their original interest on studies.More severely, some children will be unwilling to go to school any more.On the contrary,if children are allowed to spend most of their time on playing, they will be delighted and will always maintain their precious curiosities. For example, while a girl is wandering in a beautiful garden——with her eyes occupied by numerous unnamed flowers;her ears prevailed by the chirps of the birds;and her nose filled by the delicate fragrance of flowers——she will certainly fall in love with this big world, and maybe, this will also stimulates her interest in botany or zoology.
Moreover, playing can teach children how to communicate with others. For instance, when a boy is deeply attracted by a toy plane which belongs to another boy,he will talk to him and try to persuade him to lend the toy plane to him for a while. But if that boy doesn’t agree, then this boy may exchange something with him, such as a toy car or a lollipop. Some things like that will truly make children more and more self-confidence when talk with others.
So,since playing can make children happily, maintain their curiosity and teach them how to deal with others,I believe it’s a good idea to let children spend more time on playing istead of studing.
