What do you think of cross-cultural marriage?

  • Globalization has connected people from different countries or regions in the world. Now travelling to a foreign country is common while living abroad not too rare. Thus cross-cultural marriage turns up as people from different countries begin to know each other and to love each other. Yet it remains a question whether cross-cultural couples can get happiness.

It depends on many factors. First, it depends on whether the two share a same experience in a period. It's hard to imagine two people of different countries can know each other well without living or woking together. Not even to say two strangers fall in love with each other.

Second, it depends on whether the two will live together. It's hard to imagine a couple who live far away and meet only once or twice a year. Distance is a test to lovers due to the alienation it brings. And if they have got a child, situation will become even more complicated. Every child would like to live with both father and mother rather than live with either one.

Third, it depends on whether the two deeply appreciate each other. It is the decisive factor because love is the most important in marriage. It's hard to imagine a marriage without love while marriage with love can overcome most hardship it meets.

There are also other factors which have an effect on cross-cultural marriage, but I believe that a couple with love will finally achieve a happy marriage.
