M2M is a singing group which has two members,they are two Norwegian grils,one is Marit( good girl),the other is Marion(active girl).Because their names' initials are all M ,so the group is called M2M.
Marit and Marion first met in 1990 (when they were both five years or so).Because of their love for music,they became good friends,and always song together in front of their family and friends.Their first record was a children's album：Synger Kjente Barnesanger (Sings Famous Children‘s Songs).It won the nomination for the award of Spillemanspriest ( the Grammy award in Norway) for Best Children's album.At that time the name of the group is Marit & Marion.
The song The Day You Went Away expresses the feeling that the lovers are relucant to part ,as well as the love of a girl who just broke up to her boyfriend,but the love can never come back.
