Confucius was born on Mt Yunishan,he grew up in Queli,gave lectures in Xingtan,became an official in Ludu,and was buried in Sishang.There are many remnants of his activities in Qufu,and many memorials were built in his name.When Wudi,the second emperor of the Han dynasty ruled Confucianism to be the only philosophy to follow,Confucianism flourished,and became the official philosophy of all subsequent ruling dynasties.The birthplace of Confucius therefore became the official place to perform national ceremonies.
