一、和表示时间的名词连用的用法
1．昨晚（夜）,上星期（月）,去年；last night,last week（month）,lastyear．
注意：英语习惯上“昨天上（下）午”不说last morning（afternoon）,而说yesterday morning（afternoon）.“昨天晚上”可以说yesterday evening或lastnight,但不说yesterday night.如：
We produced a new play last night．
2．最近过去的,紧接前面的：he's lived here for the last few years．
We met last Thursday．
注意：last Thursday在星期五以后说,指最近一个星期四,在星期三以前说,指上星期四.
3．last month指上月,时态用过去式；the last month指刚刚过去的一月,时态可用现在完成时或现在完成进行时.如：
He came here last month．
He has been here for the last month．
I have been paying and receiving calls almost every day for the last month．
4．在前置词短语里,形容词last经常放在所修饰的名词之后.如：onSunday last．last Sunday重点在Sunday,on Sunday last重点在last.英语一般将词语的位置颠倒以表示强调.如：We came back to England on Friday last（last Friday）．
