The hypothesis of Linguistic Relativity had been very popular and almost unshakable in the studies of color codability, until challenged by another view in the late sixties last century, the Linguistic Evolution Theory. This theory was mentioned by Brent Berlin and Paul Kay in their book, Basic Color Terms: Their Universality and Evolution. The Linguistic Evolution Theory can ben described as the principal of color terms generalization, from which, interpreting that the basic color terms in various languages are gradually developed through a similar evolutionary journey. By reviewing the last century's studies of color terms in Linguistics, it can be discovered that the debate and battle of Linguistic Relativity and Linguistic Evolution has been throughout. .
