  • Story of my interest in English

Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you’re climbing it.

I think learning English is also like this.I have had English lessons since I was in primary school. At that time I didn’t have any interest in English at all and I didn’t finish my homework on time. The teachers just taught us how to write words and a lot of English grammar.I thought that was so boring until I went to high school. Now I am very interested in English.

When I was sixteen years old I studied in a high school where the school major was English. There most of teachers were foreign and their special teaching method affected me deeply.I remember the first day I was in an English lesson.I didn’t understand what the teacher said.I couldn’t communicate in English so the foreign teacher used body language help me to understand. The teacher let us work in groups to discuss questions. This encouraged us to be creative. My English level was worse than other students but I studied is very hard.I used to recite text everyday and chat with my teachers and we became friends quickly. All of my teachers were from the U.K.so they often spoke to us about the customs, religion and culture of English speaking countries. They like to go to the curio market to buy some handicrafts,so I take them. When I communicate with my foreign teachers I learn more about the culture of foreign countries. This information sounded amazing to me and made me want to go abroad to study.

In a word,I like English and I wish I could be an international tourist,to do something for China with another country’s culture community. That is the story of my interest in English.
