其实这句话是不符合语法习惯的,可能是为了满足韵律的需要,把farmer 后边的who给省掉了.there was a farmer had a dog倒像是“有位农夫养条小狗”直译过来的,我在教孩子唱这首歌的时候也注意到这个问题了,楼主很细心呢.
