定语从句和宾语从句有着根本的区别,是很容易区分的.
一.定语从句修饰的是一个名词,其功能相当于一个形容词,在句子中做定语,其名称由此而来.而宾语从句其功能相当于一个名词或代词,在句子中作宾语,其名称由此而来.如：
1.The man who is from Beijing is an English teacher.本句的 who is from Beijing 就是定语从句,作man的定语,修饰man的.
2.She asked where you were from.本句的where you were from.就是宾语从句,作asked的宾语.
二.定语从句中,当被修饰的名词是人,且其在定语从句中作主语时,用who,如上面的例句1；作宾语时用whom；在定语从句中作定语,修饰名词时用whose.用whose时,可用于人,也可用于物.
3.The woman whom I saw in the street just now is my mother.本句的whom就做saw的宾语.
4.The boy whose father is a engineer is my classmate.
5.The book whose color is yellow is mine.
