一个无聊的冒险故事:
My good friend Von Werber is always an inherent adventurer.Once he went alone, with a bag of some equipments,to explore a remote cave in a desolate mountainside where few people had ever come and some dangerous wolves were said to appear. After hours of rough trek he arrived there and went into the cave within which he could see no light at all.But he turned on the flashlight, without any of fear, entered in.Walking along with weak light,he suddenly was tripped by something on the ground. When he was to rise up,he found himself facing down towards a human skull, whose two eyeholes,as if there had lain two ghost eyes, gazed at him with full of evil and gruesomeness, which gave him, however brave he had always been,a complete fright and shock. But do not forget,as I have said,he is an adventurer.Although somewhat frigtened by that,he at last threw away all the fear and went on to go forth. The rest of his very exploration was very easy and with no event--He reached the end of the forkless cave and got a box in which there was an ancient letter, then returned by the same way and took that scaring skull in passing. The next day he sent both of his gains to some archaeology professor for research, but he paid more attention to the skull because it was so life-like as to seem gazing bitterly and melancholy at every one who took a single glimpse.Hitherto he has been looking forward to the reply.
