each 是及物动词,其后当然可以直接跟宾语,如果前文已经指明一个表示事物的名词,那么这个宾语就可以用人称代词 it 代替,如:

1.The top of a mountain is high.It took them over half an hour to reach it.山顶很高,他们到达山顶花了半个多小时.

2.He raised his right hand and reached it to the ceiling.他举起右手,伸出去够着了天花板.
