never do sth.until是一个固定搭配,意思是从不做某事直到XXX,用unless的话本身是没问题的,但主句是完成时,意味着以前从不表扬他（言外之意就是他现在会表扬他,因为他已经成了尖子生）.所以后面用除非就不恰当了,unless主要是引导一个先决条件,但这里这个条件已经是存在了.
Key：关键在于主句是完成时!
