    This phrase means:

When you are in a situation in which you must take a big risk in order to avoid failure.

    2,Swearing-in

Swearing-in is a formal ceremony,on which a person will make a formal promise to be honest or loyal, either being in the court or starting a new official job.For example,US will hold a swearing-in ceremony on Jan.20th for their newly-elected president every four year.

    3,Swear away

To me,this phrase is quite new.But I believe that "swear away" is almost similar to the meaning of "swear off",which means:promise to be off from something, let's say, smoking and bad habits.
