1. If my friend ask me advice on how to pass the English class, I would tell them to preview before class, listen carefully in class and review after class. Previewing before class is expecially important. You don't need to read between the lines. You can just skim through the whole thing and then you will get a better idea of hwat the lecture will be about. This way also helps you to shape some questions in your head. You are all set to ask questions and impress your professor. I think everyone knows how important it is to listen carefully to the lecture in class. Otherwise, there is no point going to class at all. It's essential for you to review the stuffs after class. The more time you spend on reviewing right after class, the less time you need to go over all the stuffs before exams. Reviewing right after the class can reflesh your mind and dig the stuffs deeper into your brain. Passing an English requires perseverance and confidence. Even though English is not our native language, we can always encourage ourselve to cheer up and you need to trust yourself that you can do it.
2.It depends. If you don't think the advice you received from others works for you, you always have right to choose to eliminate that. Sometimes people give you some advises that are very useless to you, so it's better for you to ignore these kinds of advises. If the advice from others is very valuable, then it is really your fault not to recognize the value of it. Most of the time, you don't take all pieces of advice and you don't take none of the advice. What happens the most is that you take parts of the advice from others and then you change it a little bit to fit into your own situation. If you can't handle others' advice effiently, you can be screwed badly. It's never too late to learn.
