These comic pieces very clearly presented an interesting experiment about DNA.Every cartoon characters have their own characteristics that are easy for readers to make distinguish between and left deep impressions on them.Especially Charaff, the protagonist, his moves and facial expressions are quite rich and interesting. The author well grasped the details of each characters, for example, the move of fingers being very matched to the whole story. This reflects that the author is very careful when drawing.
The order of structure of the storytelling is indeed good. From briefing background and making experimental hypothesis to finally exposing impacts of the whole experiment,it clealy explained all steps necessary to the experiment, meawhile the wording used in describing each piece of the cartoon is of simple ones that allow readers who have ever no any scientific background to get a fast understanding.
Another feature through all these draws is the color used are very bright and attactive, which entices readers to read on.
However, there are drawbacks with the these draws of art.At first,it would be better instead of giving too many text for explaination appeared in several pieces,by using imagized language rather than using text annotations to express specific viewpoints because extra text may let readers feel they are just reading a book rather than a work of comic.Reading comic, for their original demarcation, should be more fanny and pleasant than reading a book.
The second drawback is with the 10th and 11th pieces through which readers cann’t catch up with what viewpoint is presented.Readers have to rely on reading text to understand the thought of the author. What I mean is that the text and figures were not combined so well as expected.
Finally I think it would be helpful to add profiles of the characters in the story which may allow readers to quickly understand the whole experiment.
