the day when we first met= the day on which we first met
when=on which/in which
表示时间时,which前面要有介词,因为是we first met on 某一天
where的话,很明显是引导表示地点的定语从句,跟前面的the day矛盾了
what引导从句时,在从句中要充当一定的成分,而we first met成分已经完整了,如果要加就是加状语,例如这里的时间状语
what引导的从句一般是类似这样的What I still remember is the day when we first met.
