What's wrong? 和What's the matter? 尽管都相当于汉语的“怎么了”，但是它们在语法结构和含义上是不同的What's wrong 的表语 wrong是形容词，形容词除去最高级外前面不能用定冠词，含义是“什么事情处于出错的状态”What's the matter的表语 matter是特指名词，特指名词前必须加定冠词，其含义是“有什么事情存在的问题”。与同样结构的还有 What’s the problem（有什么难以解决的问题），What’s the trouble（有什么令人头疼的问题），What’s the difficulty（有什么存在困难之处）
