条件状语从句只有两种,一种是真实条件句,一种是虚拟条件句,主从句用一般现在时只出现在真实条件句.
一、主从句都用一般现在时表示当时就存在的情况,如：
If you ring this number,no one answers.如果你现在就圈这个号码,此时就没人回答.
if you press the switch,the computer coms on.如果你现在就按这个键,此时这台电脑就开始运行了.
二、用现在时表示将来只能用在真实条件句中.真实条件句中,根据提供条件的不同,从句分别可以用三种现在时表示将来：一般现在时、现在完成时和现在进行时.
1、一般现在时：表示主句行为紧跟在从句行为后面发生,如：
If you ring this number,no one will answer.如果你当时就把这个号码圈上,没人将会回答.(先ring this number,然后answer)
If youpress the switch,the computer will come on.如果你当时按键,紧接着电脑将会开始运行.(先press,后come on)
2、现在完成时：表示从句的行为完成以后,主句行为才会进行,如：
If you have ring this number,no one will answer.如果你在这以前已经把这个号码圈上了,那就没人会回答.(提前ring this number,过后才answer)
Ifyou have press the switch,the computer will come on.如果早先已经把键按下去了,电脑就会开始运行.(提前press,过后才come on)
3、现在进行时：表示从句的行为与主句的行为同时进行,如：
If you are ringing this number,no one will answer.如果正圈着这个号码,那就没人会回答.(一边ring,一边answer)
If youare pressing the switch,the computer will come on.如果你按着键不松手,与此同时电脑就会开始运行.(一边press,一边come on)
（这种情况也可以用在时间、地点和让步状语从句.）
三、如果是虚拟条件句,只要把上述二中例句的时态改为相应的过去时即可：
If you rang this number,no one would answer.如果你真的在当时就把这个号码圈上,那么没人会回答.(对现在或将来的虚拟)
If you pressed the switch,the computer would come on.如果你当时就按键,那么电脑真的就会开始运行.(对现在或将来的虚拟)
If you had rung this number,no one would have answer.如果你在这以前已经把这个号码圈上了,那就真的没人会回答了.(对过去的虚拟)
If you had pressed the switch,the computer would have come on.如果早先已经把键按下去了,电脑真的就会开始运行.(对过去的虚拟)
现在进行时：表示从句的行为与主句的行为同时进行,如：
If you were ringing this number,no one would answer.如果但是正圈着这个号码,那就真的没人会回答了.(对现时的同步虚拟)
If you were pressing the switch,the computer would come on.如果你但是按着这个键不松手,电脑真的就会开始运行.(对现时的同步虚拟)
