作为副词时可以叫做“小品词”.试比较：
1.My sister is in the house.( in,介词)
2.Is there anybody in?(in,副词)
少数介词可以作为连词,如 after,before,since,until 等.
1.It will not be long before they come back.
2.Will everything be all right until I come back?
