Idioms which are completely corresponding to cutual information can be translated literally. Literal translation is to find equal or similar idioms corresponding to the text when translating. It will not cause ambiguity and the idioms can be translated literally. The advantage of literal translation is to keep the national characteristics, language style and metapher image of the idioms. For example, the Chinese '纸老虎' can be translated as 'paper tiger'. When the implicated meaning of the idiom is obvious, translate the literal meaning and the readers can understand the intention through literal.
