两道题道理是一样的.
在限定的范围的时候,表示“（两个中）一个...另一个”用 one...the other.这时other是代词,不需要后面接名词.只有表示复数时才用others.例如：
1.(两个中的)另一个人(或物);另一方
It is hard to tell the twin brothers one from the other.
这对孪生兄弟很难辨认.
2.其余的人(或物)
Some boys are reading; others are listening to the radio.
有些孩子在阅读,有些则在听收音机.
人只有两只手,不会出现第三只,所以不能用others,另外本身两只手就是已经限定了范围,所以只能用the other.
