Hello (Good morning/afternoon), dear judges and friends, my name is lin XX, today I am have the honor to participate in this competition and I hope to accomplish my goals and fulfill the expectations of my teachers and peers.
I love English as a subject, not only because it is useful as a tool for communicating with others, but also because it is an fascinating language to learn and master. Some people learn English only because they have to for tests or for talking with foreigners, but for me, studying English is very fun even when not accounting its practical aspects. For examples, some people may find memorizing new vocabulary to be very boring and troublesome; but for me, every new word learned brings me joy and it's wonderful to learn that so many different and interesting words can be made using only twenty-six letters. Furthermore, in my daily life, using English also brings me great joy. For example, when I read a English book without needing translations or watch a English show in its original sound, I feel great and confident for understanding the conversations and able to understand the plot of the story. One of my hobbies is to read English aloud and to try to find the most accurate and natural pronunciation for it. Sometimes when I watch American shows, I read the captioning of the shows aloud without even realizing that I'm doing it, and at some of these times, I feel that I am really born to learn English. Just like I said: I absolutely adore English.
