你确定这个句子是原句吗...
你说它是真实性条件句吧,If it were gentle使用了虚拟语气,说不通.
你说它是非真实性条件句吧,后面使用了一般过去时,不是虚拟语气,结构不对,语法上说不通.
所以我觉的这句子要么不是原句,要么就是原句错了
