Eighty patients admitted to ICU of our hospital who are undergoing orotracheal intubation and mechanical ventilation are divided into equally-sized Group A and Group B according to their admission time. The forty patients in Group A do not receive the routinesecretion suction while the patients in Group B accept the subglottic suction.Finally, comparisons of incidence rates of ventilator-associated pneumonia, as well as MV time are made for the two groups of patients.
