一般去往一个地点时,介词用for+someplace的用法多见,更为地道.
不过,在这种情形下,使用to也是可以的（刚跟我加拿大的朋友确认过）
有些情况下,for不可以替换成to：
例如：
The train is bound for Xizhimen station.列车开往西直门站
I am leaving for Shanghai this afternoon.我今天下午去上海
