As the improvement of people's living level, physical training plays an important role in the growing stage of children, the entertaining equipment special for children has been integrated into the daily life of children. This paper specially analyzes and researches the status of scooters for children to propose new design ideas.
Children's scooters on the market today are mostly integrated structure, not folded, or have only a single and complex folding method, which results in a larger volume and space, so there are many inconveniences in storage and handling. This paper focuses on the actual project of children's scooters, makes a detailed study on the industrial design and developing process of children folding scooter, especially starts from the creation of scooter's folding mechanism, then the shape, structure, human-machine interface and color of scooters; then researches the design process which integrates the theories of human engineering design process, materials science, color science and so on, as well as makes an enough investigation and research on the shape, functions, ergonomics and colors of children scooter.
In the design, people-oriented theory is executed, that is based on the psychological characteristics and needs of children. in the design, more cultural, aesthetic, emotional, spiritual meanings are given. Strive to design effect in feel, touch, giving more attention to psychological aspects. According to the environmental and using features of children folding scooters, some design innovations are made in the aspects of product modeling, structure and human-equipment to meet consumers’ multi-faceted needs of scooters
