如果用THAT,那么先行词为NOVEL,在从句中作什么成分呢?好像不行,先行词在从句中不做主语,宾语,也应是个状语什么的,所以,想用THAT,引导定语从句这里不行.那用WHOSE,但是STORY前面有定冠词THE,物主代词和定冠词不能同时出现修饰限定一个名词,至少我没见过,你应该没见过this is the my book的用法吧,所以排除,只有用WHEN试试,发现,可以为时间状语从句,但是在翻译时就不能翻译成“当……的时候”了,大概意思是,他正在看一本小说,此时,（小说中的）这个故事令他会想起在最后的战争中,他所看到的.这句中用WHILE也是可以的,不过后面的就不对了.
