According to a local legend which is a very touching story,once upon a time,there lived a kind and beautiful goddess on the eastern mountain of Jiuzhaigou while on the west mountain was a brave and diligent god,they fell in love with each other after being together for some time.One day,the god presented a big and shinny divine mirror to the goddess as a gift to express his affections for her.When the goddess accepted the divine mirror,she was so over excited that the mirror slipped off from her trembling hands and dropped down to the foot of the mountain.The divine mirror cracked into 108 pieces and left behind for Jiuzhaigou 108 crystal clear and scintillating lakes of various different shapes and sizes.
