All over the world, women’s roles in society have been undergoing tremendous change for decades. It happens in many aspects of people’s life, as it did in the case of the buzzword “Nv Han Zi” in China which refers to a woman who thinks and acts like a man and can take care of herself without a man. In contrary to the traditional female image of a cute, submissive, and clinging lady, today’s women are likely to be more independent and tougher. What contributes to this situation? In my personal view, there are three principal reasons:
1.Physically, the improved contraception renders that women could readily control when they would have children.
2.Mentally, people’s perception of women’s roles are changing greatly. In many cases, women are no longer under the discrimination of the whole society.
3.Historically, lots of feminist movements in the past few decades are responsible for the feminine liberation from housework, childcare and something like that.
